Who we are

We’re the Phillips family, and we believe life is better when your hands are dirty and your heart is full.

In 2024, we traded the fast lane for the winding roads of Saluda, North Carolina. We moved here with a simple goal: to slow down, lean into the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and give our two young kids a childhood rooted in the soil.

Filthy Hoe Farms started as a "what if" whispered over coffee and became a reality in late 2025. What began as a dream of rows of vibrant blooms has turned into a family hustle. By day, we work our full-time jobs; by early morning light and weekend sunsets, we are out in our starter patch, coaxing Snapdragons, Lisianthus, Dahlias, and more out of the ground.

Why "Filthy Hoe"?

Because farming isn’t a filtered photoshoot. It’s gritty, it’s exhausting, and it’s often hilarious. We chose a name that reflects our sense of humor and our work ethic. We aren’t afraid to get filthy if it means bringing a little more beauty into the world.

Our Mission

We aren’t just growing flowers; we’re growing moments. Whether it’s a bouquet that makes a neighbor smile or a bucket of premium stems for a local florist, our mission is to provide Saluda with fresh, seasonal, and sustainably grown cut flowers that haven't spent days on a plane.

When you support Filthy Hoe Farms, you aren't just buying a bunch of flowers—you’re supporting a local family dream, a pollinator-friendly ecosystem, and a whole lot of hard work.

Thanks for growing with us.

A happy family of four standing outdoors on a foggy day in a field. The father has a beard and is holding a young girl with a dress, and a young boy with a red cap is sitting on his arm. The mother, wearing glasses, is standing next to them with her arm around the girl. All are smiling.
